Summary: “Gotou-san, let me sleep in the bed with you!” Masayoshi said, and Gotou turned another page.

“Not gonna happen, ‘yoshi.”

“I’m cold,” Masayoshi complained, kneeling on the shelf in the closet, one hand on the door. The futon he had stuffed in there to sleep on over-spilled, just a little - he wrapped himself up in it on a night, but the season had been getting progressively colder, and the closet wasn’t exactly heated.

“What do you want me to do about it?” Gotou asked idly, sitting atop his bed, flipping through a magazine.

“Gotou-san, let me sleep in the bed with you!” Masayoshi said, and Gotou turned another page.

“Not gonna happen, ‘yoshi.”

“It’s so cold!” Masayoshi complained. “I can see my breath when I wake up!”

“Maybe you should work on finding your own apartment then?” Gotou closed the magazine and looked up finally, and Masayoshi pouted at him.

“If I freeze to death in the night you’d miss me,” he said, sidestepping the insinuation that maybe he should move out.

“You’re not going to freeze,” Gotou responded. “Stop being dramatic.”

“Why won’t you let me sleep in the bed with you? I won’t do anything weird!”

“The bed’s only big enough for me.” Gotou was very much ignoring that night that they had stumbled home drunk and fell into the bed together, and how warm and comfortable and right it felt, even if he HAD woken up with the worst case of morning wood he’d had in months.

Masayoshi puffed out his cheeks, pouting intensely. “It is not.”

So help him, if Masayoshi brought that night up - but he didn’t shuffling back into the closet sullenly. “I’m gonna haunt you if I freeze,” he said darkly, shutting the closet door.

“I look forward to it,” Gotou said. “You’d be less noisy as a ghost!”

He heard Masayoshi mutter through the closed door, “Gotou-san is MEAN.”

Saved, for the moment.
