He honestly hadn’t MEANT to hit Gotou - well, okay, maybe he had but not nearly as hard as he actually did. Gotou stumbled a few steps back and sat down hard, one hand over his nose. It was so hard to get him really angry, but that sure did it. “What the HELL,” Gotou roared, only slightly muffled by his hand.
Masayoshi didn’t budge. “Stay down,” he said. “Stay with the civilians, you’re not in uniform-” he shouldn’t have to remind Gotou, he wasn’t on duty, he didn’t have any means of defending himself here - at least Masayoshi had his armor at a minimum. He half-turned - it was one of King Torture’s creatures, of course, looking like it had stepped right off of a television screen and surrounded by those black-suited minions.
His mistake, of course, was actually turning his back on Gotou. Gotou lunged up and got him with a full body tackle, hard enough to bounce his cushioned helmet off of the opposite wall of the alley. Masayoshi yelped and Gotou put him in a headlock. “Stay DOWN?” Gotou yelled at him, and dripped blood from his nose onto the white scarf Masayoshi was wearing. “What the hell is WRONG-”
Gotou yelling got the attention of King Torture’s minions. They all turned to stare into the alley, and Masayoshi winced when the light was shone in their direction. “… shit,” Gotou said, and released Masayoshi.
“Stay back!” Masayoshi shouted at him - he had his ‘hero’ voice on now, and was already posing. “I don’t want to see you get hurt!”
Gotou wiped his hand across his nose and raised his fists, squaring off with some of the minions that were approaching them. “Yeah,” he said. “I’m not going anywhere, dumbass.”
