Length: 274
Summary: Gotou stood outside the closed apartment door and contemplated it silently.
Gotou stood outside the closed apartment door and contemplated it silently. He knew Masayoshi was inside; he’d seen the lights on when he came around the building. That was really no surprise, Masayoshi had a key now that they were living together, and some days he just got home before Gotou did.
No, what concerned him was the level of noise that was leaking through the closed apartment door. He could pick out Masayoshi’s voice, even if he couldn’t quite catch the words - it would raise and lower, and there was something … else.
Well, he could stay out here and ponder, or he could just go on with it and find out what on earth was going on in his apartment; so Gotou steeled himself and opened the door.
“-get BACK here, STOP-!”
Masayoshi skidded to a halt in the doorway between the hall and the main room, soaking wet and dripping - and the dog stopped before Gotou, bubbles still in its fur. It braced its paws apart on the floor and barked at him.
The dog was a mid-sized thing, some kind of Akita breed, although it was probably larger when it wasn’t soaking wet - and Masayoshi said; “No, wait- DON’T-“
The dog shook itself out, spraying the walls and Gotou with water.
Gotou blinked, and looked from the dog - who had angled itself to scratch its head - to the already-soaked Masayoshi, who sighed exaggeratedly.
“I can explain?” Masayoshi offered weakly.
Gotou just stared at him.
