Title: Ad on the Page
Fandom: Samurai Flamenco
Characters/Pairing: Gotou/Masayoshi
Rating: T
Length: 362
Summary: Gotou wasn't quite awake yet.
Gotou wasn’t quite awake yet - he had his coffee in one hand, and his attention was loosely on the television that had been on since he had schlepped out of the bathroom. He definitely wasn’t awake enough to deal with Masayoshi bouncing around the room like a puppy who hadn’t been for his morning walk yet.
Masayoshi dropped down onto his knees opposite Gotou, the newspaper in his hands. He’d gotten used to getting through the paper second - Masayoshi at least didn’t mess the pages up like Mari used to. He folded the page over and leaned across the table, shoving the newsprint before Gotou’s eyes and holding it so close that he couldn’t quite refocus on the page fast enough. “We,” Masayoshi announced from beyond the paper, “are going to the amusement park this weekend.”
Gotou took the page from Masayoshi and held it far enough away that it didn’t feel like he’d go cross-eyed. There was a half page ad for one of the biggest amusement parks in town - and the new Harakiri Sunshine exhibit they were opening to promote the new movie. “Seriously?” Gotou said, and Masayoshi nodded his head sharply.
“There will be all sorts of things there!” Masayoshi said. “There’s a ride, and exhibits, and - a gift shop with exclusives!”
Gotou threw the newspaper onto the table and yawned into his coffee. “We’re not going to the amusement park just so you can shop for toys, Masayoshi.”
“You haven’t taken me on a date in a long time,” Masayoshi pouted, and Gotou pointed at him.
“No. Stop making that face, we’re not going to a - Masayoshi, no.”
“Why not?” he demanded.
“Because-” Because Masayoshi was going to do something ridiculous and get people in Harakiri Sunshine costumes to join in, and Gotou would be thoroughly publicly humiliated. “Just because.”
