Samurai Flamenco - Safe [Gotoyoshi]
Title: safe
Fandom: Samurai Flamenco
Characters/Pairing: Gotou/Masayoshi
Rating: T
Length: 333
Summary:
Masayoshi sighed and Gotou’s arms tightened around him reflexively, warm and solid and strong. He smiled and turned his face in toward Gotou’s shoulder - the television was still on, the only light in the room, dim and flickering, and the steady rise and fall of Gotou’s chest told him that they’d once again fallen asleep watching the television.
Gotou would be grumpy when he woke - he didn’t like sleeping in his clothes, and really Masayoshi should get up and turn off the television like a responsible adult. There were still dishes soaking in the sink that should be dealt with, he shouldn’t sleep in his jeans either - but such actions would also wake Gotou, and he didn’t want to do that yet. He tilted his head back and looked up at Gotou; his eyes closed and face slack in sleep and Masayoshi smiled helplessly.
The terror would always linger in a corner of his heart - but the fear had diminished a long time ago, almost extinguished by Gotou’s genuine affection, hair-ruffles and shoulder-touches and surprise-kisses. Masayoshi had never understood love, he still wasn’t sure that he did but he thought at least that he understood this.
With his hands holding tight to Gotou’s sweatshirt, Masayoshi pillowed his head on Gotou’s shoulder and didn’t shift again. It was like nothing in the world could harm him here, secure and snug, wrapped up in the one person he cherished above all others. It was the best feeling, of contentment and warmth and he would happily deal with Gotou’s grumpy face when he finally woke later just to linger in this moment now.
Masayoshi closed his eyes, breathed in the stale smell of tobacco smoke that lingered on Gotou’s sweatshirt, and smiled.
This WAS love, and he treasured it.
