Samurai Flamenco - In the Surf [Gotoyoshi]

Title: In the Surf
Fandom: Samurai Flamenco
Characters/Pairing: Gotou/Masayoshi
Rating: T
Length: 334
Summary: He was in the water up to his shins.

He was in the water up to his shins - torn between exasperated and amused as Masayoshi waded out of the current, beach ball held triumphantly over his head. The crying child on the sand hid behind his sister and had to be prodded forward to shyly take the beach ball from a crouched Masayoshi.

The child’s mother thanked him profusely, and Masayoshi waved it off with a wide grin. Gotou smiled despite himself - it was such a Masayoshi thing to do, throwing himself straight into the water to fetch an escaping child’s toy. “You’re soaked,” he told Masayoshi as he returned, splashing a bit as Gotou hadn’t started back toward dry land himself. Masayoshi turned around and waved farewell to the kids, who were already tossing the ball again.

“Yup, so I am.” Masayoshi wrung out his tee shirt, still grinning. He didn’t telegraph his intention at all, and two steps closer to Gotou he tackled him mid-chest, and they went over together into the water.

Gotou sputtered, dowsed in the shallow water, and Masayoshi laughed delightedly, half on top of him. “Now you are too,” he said. Gotou shoved him off, dunking his head and Masayoshi burbled a moment before he surfaced, still laughing.

“Asshole,” Gotou said. A wave smacked into his back and drenched him again, and Masayoshi floated on it, before scrambling to his feet.

“C'mon,” he said, and pulled at Gotou’s arm. “Up, up!”

Gotou looked up at Masayoshi trying to haul him bodily to his feet, and instead yanked him back, face-first into the water.

Masayoshi sat up on his knees, dripping saltwater, and pushed his bangs back from his face. “Come onnnn,” he groaned at Gotou, who leaned forward and swiped his thumb over Masayoshi’s lips, hesitating just a moment before kissing him.
