Samurai Flamenco - Illuminated [Gotoyoshi]

Title: Illuminated
Fandom: Samurai Flamenco
Characters/Pairing: Gotou/Masayoshi
Rating: T
Length: 321
Summary: "Gotou-san, we're gonna be late."

It had been gray and cloudy when they left the apartment, a high ceiling of clouds that threatened yet another spring rainstorm. Gotou made an annoyed sound and hesitated, intending to fish out his keys and grab the umbrella that still sat in its stand just inside the door but Masayoshi caught his arm. “Gotou-san, we’re going to be late,” he whined.

He left the umbrella and shoved his hands into his pockets as they walked, realizing with further irritation that his lighter was sitting atop the carton of cigarettes, both on the counter by the sink. Masayoshi was chattering cheerfully at him and he should be paying more attention, but the general pall of the sky and the fact that with Masayoshi distracting him he would have forgotten his cellphone if it hadn’t been in his hand, Gotou had put himself into a fine, foul mood.

The movie theater was crowded full of people; it would be for a movie on its opening weekend. Masayoshi had gone to the premiere himself, but now in jeans and a ball cap and with Gotou by his side he didn’t rate much attention save for the two girls who recognized him before they got to their seats, their heads turning and eyes growing wide. Gotou had been resigned to be the photographer yet again when the second girl said, eyes bright, “you’re Samurai Policeman-san, aren’t you?”

Masayoshi nudged him gleefully when they found their seats. “You got recognized,” he said with a grin.

It wasn’t dim enough in the theater to hide the flush, but he was less put out by the girls reaction than he anticipated. “Shut up,” he grumbled good-naturedly, and Masayoshi beamed at him, leaning into his shoulder as the lights went down and the movie started to play.
