Title: Benevolent
Fandom: Samurai Flamenco
Characters/Pairing: Gotou/Masayoshi
Rating: T
Length: 358
Summary: "It's never 'just' anything with you."
When Masayoshi turned up at the koban smiling like that, Gotou knew there was going to be trouble.
He didn’t make a habit of visiting Gotou at work, or at least not like he used to. He was busier now, attending events and trying to talk his way out of being a government official and still somehow making time to shoot cameos in television shows and do the occasional modeling spread. It was rare that he had time off at all, never mind time off where he could visit the koban and make a pest of himself.
(A pest that Gotou was glad to see, regardless.)
“I’m at work, Masayoshi,” he said, trying not to look at Masayoshi’s face and big happy grin. “Can’t it wait?”
Masayoshi patted the bag he had slung over his shoulder. “I brought you a change of clothes for when you get off your shift,” he said, and Gotou lifted his head finally.
“What - why?”
“Because you’re taking me out to dinner tonight,” Masayoshi nodded his head as he spoke.
Gotou blinked at him - he rewound the morning’s conversation, nothing about going out that he could recall - and he rubbed a hand over his eyes. “I don’t remember this being discussed,” he said finally.
“It wasn’t,” Masayoshi said. “I decided it when I got some downtime. When was the last time we went somewhere NICE to eat, anyway?” He patted the bag again. “So I brought you some nice clothes, we’ll go when your shift is over.”
Gotou sighed. “We’re going to have to have that talk about making plans without consulting the other person again, aren’t we?”
Masayoshi leaned forward, one hand on the desk and eyes sparkling. “Why, Hidenori-kun … it’s JUST dinner.”
“It’s never ‘just’ anything with you.”
Masayoshi grinned.
